What is a Chemical Peel?

Grace Aesthetics + Wellness offers a variety of chemical peels that require little to no downtime. These chemical peels deliver instant results and long-lasting benefits for all skin types, ethnicities, and skin conditions. These revolutionary peel treatments are the first to combine the benefits of a chemical peel with the convenience of a one-step, in-office procedure. Our chemical peels are safe, effective, and easy to use and can be customized to each individual’s skin type and needs.

A chemical peel is an acid-based exfoliating and resurfacing treatment that can remove the superficial layers of skin without harming the deeper layers, leaving your skin with a smoother and more radiant-looking appearance.

Dead skin cells are shed every 28 days, revealing new skin cells underneath. Sometimes, this process slows down, resulting in dull, dry skin and clogged pores. Dead skin cells are removed from the skin’s surface with chemical peels. They peel away the uppermost layers of dead skin with a chemical peel, resulting in healthier, smoother, brighter, and more radiant skin. Also, a peel can improve the texture of your skin and correct discoloration.

Depending on the ingredients used, different peels are available at Grace Aesthetics + Wellness. There are chemical peels that work superficially, while others penetrate deeper into the skin. It would be best to remember that certain chemical peels exfoliate more than others, so choose the peel that is right for your skin type.

Our skin experts at our Grace Aesthetics + Wellness will assess your skin first to identify what type of skincare treatment and products would work best for you. This will ensure that you get the proper treatment to improve the overall health of your skin.

How does it work?

Chemical peels increase the skin’s cell turnover rate, bring new skin cells to the surface, diminish dark spots and breakouts, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and restore a more youthful and radiant appearance. An acid-based solution is applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells from the face, neck, and hands. This removes the old skin, leaving newer and smoother cells. The client may feel a tingling, itching, or burning sensation for a short time after treatment, but this will subside in no time.

Chemical peels are among the most popular treatments for improving the appearance of your skin. They are easy to use, give excellent results with minimal recovery time, and do not require invasive procedures.  They are safe for most skin types.

What are the benefits of a Chemical Peel?

Removing dead skin stimulates collagen, which is essential for plump, youthful skin. The primary benefits of your peel will depend on the chemical peel used. Aestheticians can apply chemical peels to the neck, chest, and hands, although they are typically used on the face.

Some of the benefits of chemical peels include:

  • Reduces or eliminates hyperpigmentation, melasma, and acne
  • Removes sun damage, softens fine lines & wrinkles, minimizes the appearance of pores
  • Gives your skin a healthy glow
  • Helps in improving the overall clarity, tone, and texture of the skin
  • It can be done on any part of the body, like the hands, neck, chest, etc.
  • Increases the skin’s cell turnover rate making the skin look more youthful, vibrant, and healthy.
  • Not only treats but also prevents breakouts
